Sleep . . . Sleep . . . Sleep

I am starting this blog over b/c Daniel loves to operate the laptop and decided to erase the first entry I typed. Perhaps he does not want anyone to know that he is not a perfect sleeper?

Daniel slept 12 hours last night from 7pm to 7am. This is HUGE progress on the sleep front for us. He did wake up a few times but went back to sleep after a few pats on the back.

Perhaps Michael and I can keep this going and hopefully get over our own sleep deprivation.

I must admit that when I was rocking him to sleep last night that I wished this point in time would last forever. I just love holding him, rocking him, and feeling his cheek next to mine. I want to protect him forever and make him so happy. My heart was so full of love at that moment and I just wanted to soak it all in to remember these amazing times with our angel baby.

Talking Driver and Safari Lights and Sounds

Now that Daniel is wearing 12 month clothing, we are also realizing he likes 12 month toys! We visited Marsha, Steve and John yesterday and had a wonderful time. John is so great with Daniel and even helped feed him a bottle. They gave Daniel a Talking Driver toy with a wheel just like a car and all kinds of sounds for driving and stopping places to visit. Daniel loves it!

Then we broke out his new Safari Lights and Sounds toy - this is amazing b/c it makes all kinds of jungle noises and has two little characters who spin around on a wheel. Pretty much Daniel is having a blast. We will see if this wakes up Daddy this morning! And as you can see from the pictures, Daniel has figured out how to play with both toys at the same time :)

Moving all Over

Daniel continues to get around by crawling backward or rolling. He is so close to crawling forward - - - then we will have to use the baby gates. Daniel is also kicking his legs all the time. The ladies at daycare call the oldest girl baby and Daniel, Pebbles and Bam-Bam (or sometimes they call Daniel Thumper b/c he is always kicking his legs). Daniel is talking up a storm, but no Ma-Ma yet (even though I keep hoping). His laugh when I play peek-a-boo or tickle him is the best thing you can hear after work. We are still waiting for any teeth to come through . . .

Baby's First Easter

Daniel loved his Easter Eggs!!!!!!!!!!! He was intent on getting each Easter egg out of the basket and tasting them until he discovered that he could dump the entire basket!!!!!!!!!! Michael asked me why I was purchasing wooden eggs for Daniel and why he needs a personalized Easter basket????? (so he can have some fun of course and because I can now that we have Daniel!) I must admit that Daniel liked his Easter book and eggs more than the footballs (Michael says that is OK b/c he will learn).

We went to church with Daniel and everyone loved seeing him after the service. Plus Daniel got to search for an egg in the playground at church - the eggs all had bible verses in them.

Then we headed to Nana and Grandpa's for Easter dinner. Daniel got to meet cousin Susan, John, Jamie and Sarah for the first time! Daniel thought Sarah was amazing and liked looking at her in her pretty Easter dress and bonnet. Daniel loved playing with Nana and Aunt Valerie plus Grandpa learned a new song that we all sang to Daniel. What a great day. Blessings to all of you.
