First Two Phrases

Daniel said his first two phrases yesterday:

Read the book

I need blue (referring to a blue star sticker)


I actually heard the second one at school when I was picking him up! Our little guy is growing up fast. I guess we better watch what we are saying now - I hear kids are great at repeating everything :)

Brookside Gardens "Wings of Fancy"

We went to Brookside Gardens to see the Butterfly Conservatory! Daniel had the biggest smile when he saw all the butterflies - he could not believe that they were flying right around him. This exhibit is even better than the Smithsonian b/c they have an incredible amount and variety of butterflies. I was not sure that we were going to be able to get Daniel to leave :)

Rocknoceros at 930 Club

Daniel had a fun packed Sunday! He got to ride his new bike (that we can push from behind) all the way to the park. Then Daddy and Daniel played with airplanes! We even had three other kids join in the fun.

We all went to the 930 Club this afternoon - yes the 930 Club where you go to see famous rock bands. We actually stood outside in front of the line to get into the club with the other parents and kids. They had to search our bags when we entered and realized that they were going to have to let food and drinks in for the kids. I think the 930 Club staff must have had a real kick out of this concert event.

We where there for Rocknoceros Kids Concert. We could not believe that Daniel ran right up front below the stage with all the other older kids to dance and jump around. He absolutely loved it and we were so proud that he was dancing and jumping with the other kids while Mommy and Daddy sat way back in the audience. One of the older girls lifted him up to the stage so he could see the band. This band is great for kids! He even tried to hug an older girl that stood behind us in line - so cute. Of course he also had to run around the club several times and tried to make a break for the front door.

Then we went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner as a family because Daniel was so good today. I think he ate more bread than I have every seen.

Cape Cod Vacation

Michael and I had a wonderful 3 night vacation to Cape Cod for Tim and Liz's wedding. We visited Provincetown, Chatam and Wellfleet. We especially enjoyed whale watching where 2 humpbacks came right up along side our boat. The food was amazing and we felt so fortunate that the weather was gorgeous.

Daniel was a little angel for Nana and Grandpa and gave me a 100 watt smile and huge hug when I returned.

Visit with Cousin Hayden

We had a fun visit with Hayden, Valerie, Eric, Nana and Grandpa today! Daniel can actual say "Baby" and "Hayden" now which is very cute. Plus Daniel ate everything offered to him for dinner with is definitely a record.

We had a great July 4th! Daniel and I went to Fairfax Corner for muffins and milk at Caribou Coffee and then Daniel had a blast running through the water fountain. Daddy and Daniel played outside with Daniel's new baseball bat and balls. Then we went to Jen and Bennett's for a cookout and fireworks. We even had a cake to celebrate Michael's birthday. Daniel had a lot of fun with Robyn and BJ and really enjoyed their pool and bouncer! Michael set off fireworks for the kids after dinner - Daniel liked holding the sparklers with help from MaMa.
