Daniel's First Snow

Daniel got out in the snow for the first time! He was fine until his mittens got full of snow and then he was not too happy! He loves looking at the snow falling on the ground.

Here are some of Daniel's favorite things at 17 months old:

Words - apple, bye, ball, car, clock, daddy, up/down (so I guess I need to work on words that start with the letter E next)

Classes at School: Gym and Art (which I think is awesome since I have no artistic ability whatsoever)

Sports: tumbling, throwing (balls as well as everything else he can get his hands on), spinning around and around, jumping (he got off the ground for the first time this week)

Songs: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Mary Had a Little Lamb

Nicknames: We now call Daniel "Happy Feet" in the morning b/c he is always tapping his feet, dancing and spinning around

TV Show: Blues Clues (yes, he likes this more than Football - at least for now)

Books: 1) Opposites and 2) Airplanes

Fruit: Bananas and Blueberries (I added this category for Michael!)

Time: whenever he can be outside OR whenever he can run around the house naked

Newest: hugs and kisses

Daniel has a strong independent streak and knows what he wants to do and when he wants to do it! Yes - it is a battle of the wills at our house. He is so much fun at this age and we cannot believe he will be 18 months old in February!

Good Luck Ravens!!

Daniel already knows that the Ravens are special and whenever he sees their symbol he points to it! Not that we are brainwashing him or anything :) He is getting ready for the AFC Championship Game today!

Daniel even tried to say "touchdown" yesterday when we were playing with him yesterday.

It is going to be a brawl today during the game - best of luck to the Ravens!

Little Gym Graduation

Believe it or, Daniel had a graduation ceremony at his Little Gym class today. He is graduating from the BIRDS to the BEASTS. Michael came along to class to see Daniel tumble and play with all the kids. At the end of class, Daniel received a certificate and had a few moments with a graduation cap on his head. We will see how next week goes with all the 19 months - 3 year olds (Daniel will love it b/c he is fascinated with older kids).

GO RAVENS!

As you can see, Daniel was very happy that the Ravens beat the Titans tonight!!!!!!! Unfortunately, Michael had to work all day and evening today so he missed the game (Can you believe he missed a playoff game on TV?????)

I did manage to get a picture of Daniel on the computer and with his new GUND fairy tale bear which he loves.

Happy New Year

Daniel wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year! We send you and yours many blessings for a healthy and happy 2009.
We spent part of the day downstairs working on a playroom for Daniel. He definitely needs more space for all his toys! I cannot believe how fast 2008 went by - it seems like yesterday that Daniel was still a baby and now he is an active toddler. We are looking forward to 2009 b/c Daniel will have two new cousins. Michael's sister is due with a baby boy in early February and Holly's brother and sister-in-law are due with a baby girl in May!! Michael and I cannot wait to be Uncle Mike and Aunt Holly :)

About Me

We first heard about Gladney Center for Adoption in January of 2005 when we met with Pastor Stephen and Paula. In March of 2005 we attended an orientation at Gladney in Fort Worth, Texas. We adopted Daniel on September 12, 2007! Now we are waiting for a special child to complete our family.
