Young Toddler

Well we just found out that Daniel is being moved from infants to young toddlers at daycare! I cannot believe how fast our little boy is growing up. I know that Daniel is ready for this move, but I am not sure that I am :)

Since Daniel is walking, they are going to move him and one of his buddies at the same time. Daniel will love it b/c he will go to art class, gym, theater and out on the playground!

Our Little Boy is Walking!

Daniel is walking all over this week!!!! You can see Daniel as a blur in the above picture. He had socks on today so he was walking on the hardwood floors and slipping all over the place - Michael and I could not help but laugh (and then we took off his socks so he would has some traction on the floor). It is hard to believe that it was only one month ago today that he took his first step and now he is motoring all over the place. And yes everyone has told us that our lives will never be the same :)

Boys . . Boys . . Boys

We went to visit Michael's cousin Tammy and Mike yesterday to meet baby Jason! Daniel had a great time playing with Will of course. Baby Jason is so cute and he smiles all the time. These boys are going to have a great time playing together as they grow up.

Family Day!!!!

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY, WE BECAME A FAMILY OF THREE!

It is amazing how fast a year goes by with Daniel in our lives! He is more precious to us than we could have imagined. Every day I feel so happy when I get him up and he smiles at me - unconditional love cannot be described sufficiently.

We are going to celebrate FAMILY DAY every year and hope Daniel will love this tradition as much as we do. The three of us went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner (Daniel had a grilled cheese sandwich). And I had to buy him this Texas Cowboy plate when I saw it online!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Daniel's amazing birth mother as we can never thank her enough for trusting us with Daniel. In addition, we send our thoughts and prayers to our friends who are still waiting to create their own families - may God bless you on your journey.

Fall Picnic

We had our neighborhood fall picnic today. Daniel got to play with our neighbors - Morgan and Kyle on the see-saw. He also loved chasing the soccer ball owned by the older boys.

Earlier in the day we took a walk and went to the playground and played on the swings while Michael was at the Raven's game (they won). I caught Daniel climbing up the stairs - he turns around and waits for you to follow him.

Visiting Uncle Scott and Aunt Erica

Daniel had a blast visiting Uncle Scott and Aunt Erica (who he might call "Aunt E" or auntie) in Houston for Labor Day. He received a Radio Flyer Retro Rocket Ride-on Toy for his first birthday and he loved the lights and sounds. Plus he got to play with their dog, Skylar, all weekend. Skylar loved licking Daniel and Daniel learned how to say "doggie". Scott made blueberry pancakes and spaghetti and meatballs for Daniel (two of his favorites) and gourmet meals for the adults. As you can see we all love visiting Scott and Erica! Daniel had lots of practice saying "hi" all weekend to his aunt and uncle as well as throwing them lots of raspberries. He cannot wait to visit again when the beach house is complete!

The Beach - August 29

We went to Houston to visit Uncle Scott and Aunt Erica (Holly's brother and sister-in-law). The took us to Galveston where they are building a beach house. Daniel loved the beach and the ocean - on his very first time he just crawled right into the ocean!!! He would have stayed there all day playing in the sand and the water. We also went to Moody Gardens and Daniel enjoyed the fish, penguins and seals at the Aquarium.

It was on this day exactly one year ago that we learned that Daniel would be our son! What a special time in our lives.

About Me

We first heard about Gladney Center for Adoption in January of 2005 when we met with Pastor Stephen and Paula. In March of 2005 we attended an orientation at Gladney in Fort Worth, Texas. We adopted Daniel on September 12, 2007! Now we are waiting for a special child to complete our family.
