Daniel Has Been With Us for 2 Months Today

Holly here - It is amazing that Daniel has been part of our lives for 2 months and how happy this little boy has made our whole family! He is the joy in our lives and we fill up with love every time we see him and he smiles and needs to be cuddled. He is definitely Mommy's boy right now. So it is going to be very hard for me to go back to work b/c I will miss him so much. We are stopping at the daycare today to pick up his bottle bag and everyone is looking forward to meeting Daniel.

I have included a few pics in a lion outfit that Nancy dropped off. Lions are one of Daniel's favorite animals!

Lots of Fun This Weekend

Daniel here - On Friday Nana and Grandpa came to visit b/c they missed me!

On Saturday I went to church with Mommy and all the ladies loved me! Then we went to the mall and I had my picture taken with Santa! All I know is that we waited in line and he is a really big guy wearing red. Mommy got me to smile.

Then Mark, Heather and John stopped by on Saturday for a visit. John is a lot of fun and he liked our fireplace like all the other boys. Nancy, Arthur, Brandon and Tyler also came to visit and Nancy held me - I like the ladies. I decided not to take any naps on Saturday and Mommy said this was not good. So she stayed home with me all day on Sunday to make sure I slept while Daddy went to church and the Raven's Game (even Mommy said the game was lousy).

Mommy and Daniel

Holly here - Michael took some great shots tonight of me and Daniel. This is exactly how he looks to me when I am feeding him and snuggling with him. Daniel laughs and smiles at me and there is no better feeling ever. Just the pure love between a mother and her new son.

One More Picture of our Little Angel

I like this picture b/c it looks like Daniel is praying. We pray every night and thank God for our precious son. He is such a blessing in our lives and is so loved by all our friends and family.

Daniel Turns 12 Weeks Old Today

Just a few changes over the last 8 weeks for our precious Daniel as you can see comparing the two pictures above.

Holly here - Daniel is 12 weeks old today and has been home with us for 8 weeks! It seems like the time is just flying by as he develops. Daniel is so much fun right now b/c he smiles, coos, makes noises, laughs and loves to play with his Lamaze toys. His personality is coming out and he definitely knows what he wants to do or not do and you still know the second he is hungry (a great set of lungs). I also see him trying to sneak a peak at the football games on TV so there is hope for Michael. He is very strong and continues to roll over and can sit up in his Bumbo! We just love him more and more every day.

A bonus for us is that Daniel is sleeping through the night as long as he gets enough to eat during the day. He is such a happy baby and I am kissing him all the time. How can you resist those cheeks?

Yesterday Mary stopped by (leader of our adoption support group) to visit with Daniel! He gave her lots of smiles and fought taking his nap b/c we had company. He is a very social baby.

Today we are off to meet Rachel and Jennifer Rose for lunch. Plus Daniel might help me do some Christmas shopping. Somehow I always manage to find something for him!

Daniel Sits in his Bumbo

Holly here - Daniel sits up for the first time in his Bumbo today and he is not even 12 weeks old yet! Now I have Michael on the hook to put together the Bouncer and the Exersaucer. We have to keep up with our strong boy.

Dinner Out and Baby Laughter

Holly here - Well Michael recommended that we go out to dinner tonight even though there were a lot of important football games on TV (OK - apparently the New England vs. Colts was the only important game and Michael was pretty happy that New England won). So Mommy, Daddy and Daniel headed to Cheesecake Factory for a great dinner. I especially liked asking for a table of three now that we are a FAMILY OF THREE! Daniel had the hiccups but managed to fall asleep in his car seat right as our dinner arrived. He especially liked all the lights in the restaurant.

When we got home I fed Daniel and played with him after his bath. I was tickling him and making funny noises and he actually laughed! It was so cute and Michael even heard him as well. He is such a happy baby and my heart just melted when he was laughing.

I have started calling my boys D squared for Daddy and Daniel. I have to make sure that I take care of both of my boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently this is the role of all Mommy's who have little and big boys.

About Me

We first heard about Gladney Center for Adoption in January of 2005 when we met with Pastor Stephen and Paula. In March of 2005 we attended an orientation at Gladney in Fort Worth, Texas. We adopted Daniel on September 12, 2007! Now we are waiting for a special child to complete our family.
