Leesburg Animal Park

Daniel is all about animals this weekend. We took a trip with Jen, Bennett, Robyn and BJ to the Leesburg Animal Park. Daniel got to see more animals and pet them all. Plus Michael got attacked by a sheep who really liked our camera. The best part was Robyn chasing the ducks.

Yesterday we had a Memorial Day cookout and Nana, Grandpa, Uncle Eric and Aunt Valerie all came down for a visit. Daniel is hoping that we have more 4 day weekends this summer. He even got to try chicken for the first time and loved it. Plus he had fun with Jen who made bubbles in the backyard.

Playing and Dancing

Daniel here - I love the laptop more than anything else (besides the cell phone and TV remote) so Mommy said that I could type this entry.

Mommy was on a trip earlier this week to Nashville (never heard of it but apparently she got to go to the Country Music Hall of fame and hear Jimmy Wayne). I did not get sick this time which made Daddy happy. So Mommy and I have been dancing to Jimmy's CD and to 80's music all week. I love dancing with Mommy b/c she is so much fun and spins me around.

Plus Mommy has been playing a lot with me this morning. She makes me laugh. She told me that she is going to take me to Little Gym next month b/c I have so much energy on Saturday mornings.

Nana and Grandpa are coming to visit me tomorrow! I have to go now b/c I need to rip up more magazines!

I am back. Mommy and Daddy took me outside to play. I was very happy on the blanket until Mommy put me in the green stuff - it is prickly and I did not like it at first. Later Mommy and Daddy showed me how to crawl in the grass - Mommy says I am going to run around in the yard like crazy when I am older.

Reston Zoo

Mommy and Daniel took the day off today to start our Memorial Day weekend early! We went to the Reston Zoo so Daniel could see the animals. He loved the goats, sheep and llama. He petted all of them and was not scared at all. We also saw turtles, birds, roosters, monkeys and a pony! Daniel was so good and also got to ride in a car with animals :)

Then we went to Harris Teeter to shop. Daniel likes their shopping carts b/c they look like a car where he sits and he can turn the steering wheel while I shop. Daddy finally made it home and we got to take a walk in the woods. We saw three sets of deer and Daniel smiled each time.

Daniel had his 9 month check-up today. He is 29 1/2 inches tall (87%) and weighs 20 lbs. 2 ounces (50%). He only had a blood test today - no shots. All the nurses love Daniel's smile and blue eyes.

On the Move

9 Months Old

We cannot believe that Daniel is already 9 months old today!

When I was taking Daniel out of the car seat yesterday, he tried to say "Ma-ma" for the first time. I was so excited that I told everyone at daycare.

Daniel is just crawling all over the place and pulling himself up to standing by holding onto tables, furniture, me or Michael, etc. He seems to be everywhere already so we know we are in trouble when he starts walking (he has already taken a few steps with walker at daycare).

Mostly we are just enjoying Daniel's smile and laugh and engagning personality. He loves to figure out how things work and he especially enjoys playing with 2-3 toys at the same time.
