Mother's Day

My Mother's Day weekend was such a blessing. On Friday at daycare, they had "Muffins for Moms" and I got a present from Daniel. It was this adorable picture of him in a large flower pot with flowers in the background which is proudly displayed in my office. He looks so cute and happy. Plus he drew me a picture with his blue crayon. Then Friday night Michael made me a gourmet shrimp-alfredo dish with wine and roses. We had a lovely dinner together after Daniel went to sleep.

On Sunday, Daniel was so excited about Mother's Day that he got me up at 5:50am!!! We played with all his toys for over 2 hours until he fell asleep for a nap. Then I got great cards from Michael and from Daniel! Plus my two boys gave me a gorgeous pendant necklace with ruby, blue topaz and peridot stones representing all of our birthstones. My stone is in the middle b/c I hold the family together :)Michael made blueberry pancakes (which actually means he handled fruit!) and they were delicious. Daniel even had some pancakes - his first adult food - and he liked them. We are so happy as a family of three. Michael and I created a Daniel sandwich and kissed him all over.

Then we headed up to Nana and Grandpa's for Mother's Day dinner. Daniel loved playing with his grandparents and Aunt Valerie and Uncle Eric. This was quite the happy occassion for everyone. Daniel did get tired during dinner, but I told everyone that I did not all mind if my food got cold b/c Daniel is in our life!

Needless to say this was an amazing weekend for me and my heart feels like it might burst with love for Daniel.

Big Bouncer at Pirate Party

Daniel went to John's 4th Birthday Party today and had a great time! Daniel and I went in the moon bounce with the bigger kids and he loved it - bouncing up and down and up and down and up and down. He also liked watching the boys pull the strings to open the car pinata and see all the candy fall out. Michael and I enjoyed Marsha and Steve's chocolate fountain the most.

Daniel can now pull himself up on the coffee table, coach or other objects and stand all the way up! He has done this several times this week. Plus he crawls everywhere so now we have to use the gates. Daddy managed to get some pictures of Daniel with his footballs this morning!

He is talking a lot more now even though we cannot understand him - he has some elaborate conversations like is Daddy :) What I like best is his laugh - what a way to make you realize what is important in life. Love and a child's happiness.

Musical Drum

Our sweet pea loves his musical drum. What could be more fun than lights and sounds and something to bang on all the time?

Fun Times

Daniel got his first laptop this week!!!!! Now he has his own and he does not have to bang on Mommy and Daddy's laptops - or at least that was the thought. Plus Daniel loves playing with his Daddy and getting himself into trouble by crawling everywhere.

Of course the most fun is getting up on the coffee table and grabbing everything he can reach.

Picnic

Yesterday, Daniel and I went to a picnic in Leesburg sponsored by Daniel's daycare. There were tons of kids there and Daniel got to play in the grass with a ball! He also got kisses from all his favorite teachers. Plus he played with his friends from daycare.

It has been so nice out in May that Daniel and I have been on a walk for the last 4 days in a row. Daddy is a little under the weather :(

We got out some new toys for Daniel today. He is able to pull himself up now so we have to keep him entertained or he goes for the phone and the remote!!!!!!!!!!! Just like Daddy.

Big boy

Look at Daniel crawling and playing with bubbles. He is starting to pull himself up on furniture so we had to lower his crib last night. He is everywhere!

Daniel loves imitating me when I say, "Ut oh" and he plays this game where I shake my head like I am saying no and then he shakes his head. He thinks it is hysterical.

About Me

We first heard about Gladney Center for Adoption in January of 2005 when we met with Pastor Stephen and Paula. In March of 2005 we attended an orientation at Gladney in Fort Worth, Texas. We adopted Daniel on September 12, 2007! Now we are waiting for a special child to complete our family.
